DESCRIPTION
Calcium Stearate is produced and supplied as a fine white powder, with a slightly greasy texture. It is completely insoluble in water, low molecular weight alcohols, esters and ketones, and only slightly soluble in aromatic compounds. It is acknowledged to be completely non-toxic. The product is packed in 25kg multi-ply paper sacks or 500 kg bulk bags.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Calcium Stearate has a large number of industrial applications –
- As a lubricant in PVC stabilised with lead compounds, and as a stabiliser in conjunction with other metallic soaps
- As a lubricant in the production and processing of polyolefins
- In the paper coating industry
- As a mould release agent
- As an anti-caking agent
