ALMSTABS

Our standard formulations are designed for and based upon the latest PVC compounding and processing technologies. These should meet the requirements of the majority of Compounders and Processors. Where specific requirements are to be met or unusual processing conditions prevail, we will develop the required product and produce the material based on our customer's requirements.

PRODUCT FORM

Non-dusting Pellets - components comprising primary and secondary heat stabilisers, internal and external lubricants, anti-oxidants, process aids and any other required materials, are compressed into a pellet form. These pellets are cylindrical in shape with a diameter of approximately 5mm. Length varies from between 3mm to 10mm. The pellets break up readily under mixing forces, ensuring homogenous dispersion throughout the PVC dry blend.

Non-dusting Strands - components comprising primary and secondary heat stabilisers, internal and external lubricants, anti-oxidants and any other required materials, are prepared into needle-like strands, by means of a melt process. These strands are approximately 1mm in diameter and range in length from 7mm to 15mm. The strands break up readily under mixing forces, ensuring homogenous dispersion throughout the PVC dry blend.

Non-dusting Small-Packs - components comprising primary and secondary heat stabilisers, internal and external lubricants, anti-oxidants, process aids and any other required materials, are accurately pre-weighed into low-melt EVA bags, which are then sealed. This product form completely eliminates the necessity for the processor to weigh the stabiliser, as the Small Packs are custom made for each application and bag weights are determined by the consumer. Products in this form are simply dispensed into the dry blend mix. The low-melt bag is dispersed and absorbed into the PVC matrix and the contents are homogeneously dispersed throughout the PVC dry blend.

Non-dusting Pastes - ideal for the preparation of PVC plastisols. Stabiliser systems are dispersed in plasticisers.

We are also in a position to supply a wide range of liquid metal soap stabilisers and Epoxidised Soya Bean Oil (ESBO) into the South African market.

APPLICATIONS

Rigid Applications include Extrusion (pipes and profiles for the building industry) and Injection Moulding (bottles, plumbing fittings and various other components).

Flexible applications include Blown Film Extrusion (food packaging), General Extrusion (cables, tubing and decorative profiles), Injection Moulding (decorative components), Rotational Moulding (Toys) and Plastisols (dip moulded gloves, tarpaulins, leather cloths, wall coverings and calendered sheets).

Almstabs are packed in either 25kg multi-ply paper sacks or in 1000kg bulk bags.
